Building works affecting Gloucestershire Archives

We currently have builders on site. Before your visit, please check the latest information about opening hours and parking. You will need to order your documents before you visit.

Christmas & New Year opening hours

Good news! The Archives will remain open until 4.30 pm on Thursday 21 December 2017 when we will close for the Christmas break. We will re-open at 9.00 am on Tuesday 2nd January 2018.

We will be closing at 4.30 pm on Wednesday 28th February 2018 to move into the newly refurbished Heritage Hub. We will be reopening at 9.00 am on 13 March 2018.

Group visits

Groups are welcome to visit by prior arrangement

Types of Visit

Gloucestershire Archives welcomes groups who are interested in the work of the Archives to visit.

We can offer you:

  • a tour of the searchroom
  • a behind the scenes tour
  • a document display, tailored to your interests
  • information about the work of the archives

Your visit can include any or all of these features.

Arranging a Visit

If you would like to arrange a group visit, please contact us with the following information:

  • your name
  • your contact details
  • your groups name
  • your preferred date of visit
  • the number of visitors
  • your area of interest

Starting a research project

Gloucestershire Archives welcomes group research projects. If you would like to start a project, please let us know so that we can discuss this with you. For information about starting a community archive project please see our page on how to plan a community archives heritage project
