Building works affecting Gloucestershire Archives

We currently have builders on site. Before your visit, please check the latest information about opening hours and parking. You will need to order your documents before you visit.

We will be closed from Monday 11th December 2017, reopening as Gloucestershire Archives at the Heritage Hub on Tuesday 2nd January 2018. During this time  we will be relocating to the remodelled public space. We hope to keep disruption to our customers at a minimum as this is our least busy time of the year. We look forward to welcoming you to the Heritage Hub in the New Year

Project records

Gloucestershire Archives offers specialist advice to help you create, organise, and preserve your project records so that they can be enjoyed now and in the future

Are you gathering oral or written memories from your community, or collecting and copying old photographs and documents about where you live? Perhaps you want to create a community website and encourage people to add to it?

We have been involved in supporting many local projects and can share our experience with you. You can also deposit or donate your project records to Gloucestershire Archives for safe-keeping. Our aim is to preserve archive collections permanently and make sure that they are accessible for future generations. Please Contact us for more details

There's lots of other useful advice online about how to go about recording memories, using digital technology and developing community heritage websites (see the links to the right). Why not dip into one of our recent partnership projects, Gloucester Rugby Heritage, to see what we have been doing?
