Building works affecting Gloucestershire Archives

We will be closed for 2 weeks from Monday 18th September 2017, reopening on Tuesday 3rd October 2017.

This is to allow Gloucestershire Archives and its partners the opportunity to move into the newly remodelled public space known as the Heritage Hub.

Until then, we have builders on site so find out the latest information about opening hours and parking. You will need to order your documents before you visit.

How can you help us?

At present we are working on a £2.8 million project called 'For the Record'.  Amongst other things, it is providing skills training and volunteering opportunities for people interested in gathering, keeping and sharing the documented history of Gloucestershire.

The project will run until 2020 and we will be posting details of current volunteering opportunities on this page.  We'll be offering more and a greater variety of these as our project progresses.

As a member of Gloucester Heritage Forum, we can also put you in touch with other heritage organisations that recruit volunteers.  If you would like us to do this please email your request and an attached CV to us and we will forward your message to them.

'For the Record' volunteering opportunities

Opportunities will appear here as they become available.

Please email us if you'd like to receive email alerts about our future volunteering opportunities or heritage skills training.
