Gloucestershire Coroner's Court is a brand new complex which brings together all of the services of the Coroner under one roof.
Court room for inquests
A purpose built court room for the Coroner to conduct inquests is the focal point of the complex. This room includes Coroner's bench, witness stand, jury area, advocate benches and seating for 30 members of the public and press.
This versatile space would be open for similar agencies on days when the Coroner is not sitting. For further information contact us.
Current and Completed Inquests
You can find information on Current and Completed Inquests on the "Inquest Search" page. If you need information other than that displayed, please apply in writing to the Coroner.
To obtain the publicly available information on a current inquest click on the details icon next to the name of the deceased.
You will find the Hearings Schedule on the "Coroner's Timeslots" page.
All hearings will be held at the Gloucestershire Coroner's Court.
The role of the Coroner is to investigate sudden, unexplained, suspicious and unknown deaths. A state of the art mortuary and body store, capable of storing 62 bodies, enables the Coroner to authorise post mortem examinations on the same site in order to ascertain cause of death.
There are quiet and dignified areas for viewing and identifying loved ones with a garden area for contemplation.
In addition to the areas listed above there are a number of meeting rooms (capable of sitting 12), and staff accommodation. For further information contact us.
