Family Information Service (FIS)

We offer a wide range of information to support families, children and young people aged 0-19 years of age (25 for young people with additional needs).

Family information Service

That's where the Family Information Service can help, with advice on:

  • Nurseries
  • Pre-schools / playgroups
  • Childminders
  • Out of School Clubs
  • Family and leisure activities
  • Sport and leisure clubs
  • Choosing Childcare - things to look for and questions to ask
  • Childcare - what to do if you have concerns
  • Free early learning for 3 and 4 year olds
  • Support for Children with additional needs and / or disabilities
  • Holiday play schemes

We can also give information on family support, details of children's activities, parenting, inclusion grant funding and much much more.

We are asked many questions – some we can answer straight away, but others may need to be researched further. Most are answered within one working day.
In all cases our commitment is "if we don't know the answer, we'll find someone who does."
