As of Saturday 16th July, the library in Bourton-on-the-water will be open and staffed every Saturday 10am - 1pm.

Thanks to extra funding from housing developers in the area, as of 16th July the library will be open to members of the public from 10am until 1pm.

The library is also looking to recruit volunteers to support and sustain the opening of the library on a Thursday afternoon for the local community.

If you can spare some time and would like to support the library in this endeavour please contact 01451 820964 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/libraries

Cllr Andrew Gravells, cabinet member for libraries at Gloucestershire County Council said: "Opening this library on Saturdays will be very much appreciated by the community, I'm sure. It would be great if it could open its doors on a Thursday afternoon, too, so I'd urge people to get in touch and volunteer if they can."

Cllr Paul Hodgkinson, local county councillor for Bourton-on-the-Water and Northleach, said: "The library is going from strength to strength since it moved to the excellent new community centre. I know that local residents value it and the fact that it's now gong to be open at the weekend will benefit those who work during the week in particular."
