Information sharing

Secure partnership working

As a County Council, Gloucestershire has been signed up to the Avon IM&T Consortium: Information sharing agreement since 2005. This agreement outlines the principles, purposes and organisational responsibilities for the sharing of personal data between agencies, whether they are statutory, voluntary or independent.

In 2010, the County Council also signed up to an overarching protocol with the police and other local authorities in Gloucestershire. The protocol and appendices are available below.

Both overarching agreements are based on the same principles; they just cover different partner organisations.

For individual projects where sharing of personal data is a key element, specific sharing agreements (or second level agreements) are also required. A template is provided here Opens new window(which meets the requirements of both overarching agreements listed above).

Examples of existing second level agreements are available . For further information please contact foi@gloucestershire.gov.uk
