Adult Social Care Best Value Policy (March 2014)
The purpose of this policy is to establish best value guidance to assist Social Care staff in setting up care packages to meet the eligible needs of adult service users in the most cost effective and appropriate manner.
The policy should ensure that all service users have an equal opportunity to have their social care needs met at home.
The upper limit for the best value cost threshold equates to a total of 24 hours of domiciliary care, per week, that could be purchased for the same cost. This limit is a general guide and can be exceeded when the cost of providing a service for certain service users is higher than for other groups and when spending above the threshold will make a significant difference to an individual.
