Rural Renaissance Scheme for GloucestershireA county-wide partnership to implement a wide range of projects in rural areasWelcome to the Gloucestershire Rural Renaissance website. If you wish to discuss any aspects of the Gloucestershire Rural Renaissance Initiative please contact the Gloucestershire First Rural Team on 01242 864149 or e-mail thriving.economy@gloucestershire.gov.ukThe Gloucestershire Rural Renaissance scheme has helped rural communities and business influence and respond to the changing pressures facing the rural economy. It is one of the key economic development partnership initiatives working towards delivery of the Gloucestershire Rural Economic Strategy. During the last four years (2005-2009) the scheme has invested £8 million in projects to boost the rural economy through the delivery of job creation, employment support, business creation, business support, accessibility, and skills (£4 million of which has been provided by the South West Regional Development Agency). The remainder is funded from the public and private sectors. The partnership has been run by a cross-section of public, private and voluntary sector organisations who have worked together to allocate funding. To find out more about how Rural Renaissance has successfully delivered a broad range of activities throughout the County, please download the latest 'Rural Review' newsletter, video link, and gap-analysis status report below, or read the case studies from a range of projects supported, by clicking on 'How Rural Renaissance is Working in Gloucestershire' below and follow the links. |
