Hear By Right

Hear by Right is a national tried and tested standards framework for organisations across the statutory and voluntary sectors to assess and improve practice and policy on the active involvement of children and young people.

It uses measurable standards to map the current level of young people's participation across a wide range of service providers and then strategically develop an action plan to further this.

A number of services / agencies / councils across Gloucestershire CYPSP are using or starting to use Hear by Right as a tool to embed the active participation of children and young people. The Participation Team can support through guidance training and can facilitate a 'Hear By Right Map and Plan Session' for a Service / Organisation.  If you would like more information, please contact Lyn Green on 01452 425814 / 07917551394.

Our Voice Our Vision - Hear By Right The Movie

After considerable hours of dedication and commitment HBRGlos young people's group completed their DVD entitled 'Our Voice, Our Vision'. Their aim was to promote the HBR standards to adults,  young people and children. They chose to do this creatively and imaginatively through the medium of film. The film features Alice, a County Council employee who, after falling asleep during a conference, follows a strange white rabbit who shows her 'how children and young people can get their voices heard'(UNCRC Article 12) through her encounters with a wide range of popular movie characters. You can request a copy from the Participation Team office. The DVD will also be distributed to other County Councils across the country. This is an outstanding achievement which has enabled young people to gain an Act By Right accredited qualification.HBR young people giving presentatin about the DVD 2
