Learning to play music

As well as being great fun government and independent studies have shown that children who learn a musical instrument perform better in all subjects at school

Gloucestershire Music provides musical instrument tuition in most primary and secondary schools in the county. Through the service you can also:

• join one of the county music groups
• take part in the Music for Schools concert
• take part in a Residential Summer School or one day courses led by members of the instrumental teaching team
• enter the Gloucestershire Young Musician Competition
• hire an instrument or make use of the Instrument Purchase Scheme
