CYPSP Executive Group

The Executive Group membership is mostly senior managers with responsibility for commissioning services. The Group meets 6 times a year.

The Executive Group meets six times a year and consists mostly of senior managers with commissioning responsibilities. It is chaired by Gloucestershire County Council's Group Director for Children's Services, and has a function similar to that of the GSP (Gloucestershire Strategic Partnership) accountable bodies group.

Whilst the Executive Group may consult with and be subject to the scrutiny of the CYPSP board, it is proposed that the Executive Group is held responsible for the performance management and delivery of the Children and Young People's business plan, as well as resource allocation against key priorities. Over time, this group may want to provide for delegated powers e.g., to the Commissioning Forum.

The Executive Group will receive and sign off key business decisions and plans for the extended partnership, e.g., from:

•  Local Children's Safeguarding Board
•  Youth Justice Partnership Board
•  Commissioning Forum
•  District Network

Representation on this group should be reviewed by each organisation on an ongoing basis to ensure members have an appropriate level of authority, so that decision-making processes within agencies can be deployed effectively and efficiently.
