Police

Gloucestershire Constabulary have dedicated domestic violence units with trained officers all over the county. They are the first people to call in an emergency situation.

Gloucestershire Central Allocation & Referral Point (CARP)

A service for all agencies and individuals seeking support with Domestic Abuse.

Gloucestershire Domestic Violence Support and Advocacy Support Project (GDVSAP)

7 day helpline service 01452 500115 – for all victims of domestic abuse in the county of Gloucestershire.  GDVSAP accept agency and self referrals.

Safety planning, advocacy, information, emotional and on-going support, face to face support sessions available by appointment.  Specialist Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) workers.  Domestic Abuse Awareness & BAMER Training available.

Victim Support Schemes

Victim Support is the national charity which helps people affected by crime, including domestic violence.

They provide free and confidential support to help you deal with your experience, whether or not you report the crime.

Gay Glos.

Gay Glos provide a range of services for anyone concerned about their sexuality or gender, as well as their friends and families. They operate a helpline with trained volunteers who can give help and advice on a range of issues, including domestic abuse within same sex relationships.

Samaritans

Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

Refuge

Refuge is committed to a world where domestic violence is not tolerated or ignored and where women and children can live in safety. They have a network of safe houses that provides emergency accommodation for women and children when they are most in need as well as a 24 Hour Freephone National Domestic Violence Helpline, run in partnership between Refuge and Women's Aid.

Rape Crisis

The rape crisis centre offers a confidential helpline to anyone who has experienced rape, as well as one on one counselling. They believe that every woman should be able to make her own decision about whether to report a sexual assault to the police or not and they empower women to make the decision which is right for them.
