Children & Young People's Participation Steering Group & Participation Network

Ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and acted upon within the Children & Young People's Strategic Partnership (CYPSP).

The group also ensures that participation priorities identified in the Children & Young People's Plan (CYPP) and Local Area Agreement (LAA) are implemented and reviewed alongside children and young people. The group provides a strategic, coordinated approach in order to promote the inclusive development of participation, maximising opportunities for sharing information and good practice, innovation and expertise.

YouthCAN Participation Network

The purpose of the group is to provide a countywide network for those with a responsibility for children and young people's participation. The Network will provide an opportunity to share developments and good practice and achieve shared goals through joined up working.

The group aims to

• Maximise opportunities for sharing best practice and joint working
• Identify current county wide issues and concerns relating to participation and jointly work on ways of addressing these issues across agencies
• Complete work on behalf of the CYPSP work through a joint approach, utilising the skills and resources available throughout the network
• Provide a mechanism for feeding information into the Participation Steering group

Membership of the network is open to all organisations working with or for children and young people across the county.
