Fats in Drain 09

Latest News - 19th January 2010 - County Council prepared for floods

With an Environment Agency Flood Warning for the River Severn from Worcester to Gloucester following the weekend's big thaw, the county council is encouraging residents to be prepared.

Cllr Stan Waddington, Cabinet member for environment, said: If you live in an area at risk of river flooding then make sure you check Floodline or the Environment Agency website."

The county council also has the following tips:

  • If flooding looks likely and you have flood protection equipment, make sure you get it in place in good time.
  • Never go into flood water as you can't tell how deep it is and never let children play in it.
