The contract with Gloucestershire Constabulary is worth £4.5million over  four years and involves our officers working within the force's Safer Community Teams across the county.

Since last year, Gloucestershire has seen a 13% drop in crime overall, but the fear of crime is still rising and this is something the council wants to help combat.

Gloucestershire County Council is only too aware that people do not always feel safe in their homes and in their neighbourhoods and these officers are part of our commitment to do what we can to prevent that.

To tackle the fear of crime, each council-funded officer is working within communities, getting to know the residents and the issues affecting them and doing what they can with their colleagues to help.

Everyone in Gloucestershire is encouraged to find out about their local officer and how they can help them.
