Locality WorkingThe way that services for vulnerable children and young people are managed and provided in Gloucestershire is changing.![]() September 2010 sees a new way of working with vulnerable children and families in the county. Staff and services will be better placed to recognise and meet local needs. A range of staff, for example, family support workers, education psychologists and education welfare officers, are working together in local teams across the county, known as locality teams. This will bring services which are more coordinated, more local, and better able to respond to the needs of vulnerable children, young people and families in a particular area. Staff working in each locality team will, with the family, be able to take decisions on what type of support to provide or buy to best meet the needs of the child, young person or family. The aim is to improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people through better integrated working. The move supports the aims of Gloucestershire's Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP). Gloucestershire has seven locality teams. There's a map showing the locality boundaries under the 'downloads' section below. There's also a page for each locality team, which will be further developed as the idea of locality working develops. The seven localities largely follow the district model, with Gloucester being divided into north and south. There are 7 locality teams based in these areas:
