Educating a child at home

Elective home education (EHE) is where parents or guardians choose to educate their children at home instead of sending them to school. This is a form of 'education otherwise' but different from the teaching done at home by tutors sent by the Local Authority (LA) when a child cannot attend school.

Children whose parents choose elective home education are not registered full time at any school, Pupil Referral Centre or College.
