Key facts on Gloucestershire

The sharp eyed amongst you will have noticed the population figure of the county shown on the Inform home page is 599,800 but is 589,100 on this page.
The population figure quoted on this page is the 'official' mid year estimate from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) for mid 2009. Gloucestershire County Council in-house Mid Year Population Estimates point to this being on the low side and that 599,800 is nearer to the total for today.
