Gloucestershire County Council is in the process of submitting a major bid for funding from the Department for Transport to deliver substantial transport improvements on the eastern outskirts of Gloucester.

Local Transport Plan (LTP)

The Local Transport Plan (LTP) sets out the transport strategies Gloucestershire.

Gloucestershire's first Local Transport Plan ran from 2001-2006. We are presently in the period of the second Local Transport Plan 2006-2011 (LTP2), submitted to Central Government on 31 March 2006.

The process of developing second Gloucestershire Local Transport Plan commenced in 2002 with the vision. A draft Local Transport Plan for Consultation was circulated in January 2005 and a Provisional Local Transport Plan was submitted to the Department for Transport in July 2005.

Following extensive consultation throughout the process the final Gloucestershire Local Transport Plan was completed in March 2006. You can view the final plan (LTP2) and the consultation responses to the Provisional LTP2 via our Related Articles from this page.
