Winter travel

Stay up to date, keep moving, report problems and stay safe

Updated 30 December 2016

With icy and foggy weather affecting the county it's a good idea to be prepared. Our highways teams, and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) are ready to respond to weather related incidents across the county. With any kind of intense weather, travelling can be a challenge. When severe weather is expected please plan carefully and drive with caution.

Stay up to date

Worried about flooding

If flooding is imminent ring the Environment Agency's Floodline:

  • 0345 988 1188
  • 0845 988 1188 (24 hour service).

GCC's 24 hour flood emergency number is 08000 921 776. Unless a major emergency has been announced you will hear a recorded message.

Reporting debris, flooding or fallen telephone or power lines

If you are out and about and spot any tree debris or flooding on the roads, these can be reported online at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/reportit or by calling 08000 514 514.

Should you encounter anything like a fallen telephone cable or power line across a road, please do not attempt to cross it, keep a safe distance and notify the police by calling 101.

One more thing...

Unless you are notified otherwise, please assume county council services are running as normal. If there is any change, we will let you know as soon as possible, either directly, through local media or via this website.
