Have your say on the budget

Gloucestershire County Council is asking residents to have their say on proposals to focus on
vulnerable children and adults, better roads and a new school in next year’s budget.

Phase 4 - Boots Corner Trial

Current position:

In development.

Investigation and development of potential options for a trial closure of Boots Corner are currently in progress.

This planning is being carried out in parallel with the design of Phase 3 to ensure that both phases work effectively together.

Further information on Phase 4, the trial closure of Boots Corner, will be provided once it is available.

The trial closure of Boots Corner is currently programmed to commence in early June 2018. There are two factors for the current timescales;

  • It provides sufficient time to monitor Phase 3, which is currently programmed to be constructed in early 2018, and make any changes that might be needed
  • Cheltenham has a significant number of events throughout the year which influence the ability to carry out work on the highway. The proposed June 2018 start offers a period of generally lower traffic and provides an extended settled period prior to the run up to Christmas
