Civil Parking Enforcement in Gloucestershire annual reports
This is the second year that the county council has directly managed the enforcement of on-street parking restrictions across the whole of the county. We are now achieving significant performance improvements in both the spread and prioritisation of enforcement patrols successfully targeting problem areas and detecting more non-compliant vehicles, so encouraging greater compliance with the parking controls in place.
Gloucestershire County Council now manages approximately 11,015 designated parking spaces across the whole of the county, with 2,821 (0.19%) being subject to a charge for parking. This represents 0.75% of
the total highway network of 5,484 km.
In the year 2014/2015 parking contributed £2.661m to the Highways budget, funding repairs to the highway and highway infrastructure.
Next year we look forward to implementing a more consistent programme of repairs to signs and lines, introduce a regular whole county compliance survey measuring the value of parking regulations to the community, as well as improved permit services designed to better support the commercial success of Gloucestershire - all funded wholly from the parking budget.
