Model school policies

Examples for schools to adapt to their own circumstances. This list also includes policies that are frequently requested and other guidelines of interest.

If you can't find a policy here try searching the internet. Schools often publish their policies online and may have an example policy you can adapt. Don't forget to ask permission if you plan to copy a policy.

The County Council recognises that schools are their own governing bodies and are responsible for their own policies. The County Council Strategic Support Unit provides an Childcare procedures for Gloucestershire [Opens in New Window] for Children and Young People's Services. Some of these are relevant to schools and educational establishments.

Below is an Alphabetical list of model policies for schools to adapt for their own use. In some cases the policies are contained within a guidance document or manual. The list also includes policies published by other bodies, for example the Department for Education.
