Gloucestershire School Forum – Elections

Published
09.03.2017

The main Schools Forum elections which were due to take place this year in March have been postponed until 2018.  This is due to the uncertainty around the future role of School Forums, and school funding, as a result of the National Funding Formula proposals. It was felt that a significant change in membership of the Forum would not be helpful at this time.

The term of office of those members whose term was due to end on 31st March 2017 has therefore been extended until 2018.

However, the following seats are vacant or are about to become vacant, and therefore an election process will take place to fill those seats:

  • Primary (Maintained) Headteacher (2 seats) – One seat will have a term of office from 12 May 2017 – 31 March 2019; one seat will have a term of office from 8 May 2017 – 31 March 2021.
  • Primary (Maintained) School Governor– Term of office 8 May 2017 – 31 March 2021
  • Secondary (Maintained) School Governor – Term of office 8 May 2017 – 31 March 2019

Nominations forms have been sent to all relevant parties. The deadline for nominations to be returned is 5pm on 31 March 2017. The nomination forms and full details of the election process can be found on the Schools Forum webpage
