The Virtual School

The school is 'virtual' because each learner has access to an online revision and self-assessment programme, to help them achieve as well academically as any other pupil.

The Virtual School works with all the key people, teams and organisations involved with the education of Children in Care, including schools, social care and foster carers. The aim is to raise attainment and remove any barriers that may prevent Children in Care from achieving their full potential.

In Gloucestershire we believe that taking action early on is essential to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people. All those responsible for Children in Care fully appreciate that these youngsters deserve the same life chances as any other child. The team is making sure that Children in Care are given the same opportunities to achieve as their peers.
