Gloucestershire County Council are inviting members of the public including carers and the people they care for plus any other residents to come and find out how devices such as tablets, iPhones, laptops and smart home gadgets can help you to keep active, make time for yourself, look after your health, find things of interest or keep connected with family, friends and the community.

 

The event will be running 1pm – 4pm where members of the public can drop in for 20 minutes or 2 hours – entirely up to you. 

 

Stalls that are confirmed to be there at the moment include:

 

 

Service/organisation: Library Service

What will be on display:

  • Reading Well initiatives including caring for someone with dementia
  • Promotion of Springboard groups (partnership with Age UK Gloucestershire) helping people who have experienced significant life changes to re-integrate by joining new groups and making new friends.
  • General promotion of what is available via Gloucestershire Libraries – library contact details/activities/volunteering opportunities/e-books/e-audio books
  • Virtual Reality including tech demonstrating what it feels like to have dementia & possibly mindfulness for carers using tech

  • They will also have literature about other courses that are available from Adult Education – often FOC
