Family Learning

In Family Learning we allow children to come together with their parents to interact and build on their skills. We offer a wide variety of courses that have been developed to enhance skills and knowledge, ranging from healthy eating to Maths and English.

We also offer sessions within schools that focus on helping parents to support their children with their learning.

Our courses focused on English can help to enhance your own skills, and also teach you ways that you can support your children with their learning.

Our courses cover the basics of how children are taught English at school, covering elements such as reading and writing.

Some of our courses are delivered in schools, and allow parents and children to work together to discover fun activities that will help you to encourage your child with their learning.

Some examples of what we offer:

  • ‘Improve your English and Help your Child’ is part of a programme of sessions for parents to attend in school. The course is designed for parents/carers to build their own English skills and find out about different ways to support their children with learning at home.
  • ‘Help your Child to Read’ - Join us to bring reading to life. Discover new ways to engage your children with reading and make fun resources to use at home. This session gives you the opportunity to come into school and work with your children to make reading fun.
  • Our 'Upgrade your English' course is aimed at parents who would like to improve their English skills.  You will also find out how to help your children develop their literacy. This course could also lead to accreditation.
