Family Learning

In Family Learning we allow children to come together with their parents to interact and build on their skills. We offer a wide variety of courses that have been developed to enhance skills and knowledge, ranging from healthy eating to Maths and English.

We also offer sessions within schools that focus on helping parents to support their children with their learning.

We offer a variety of courses focused on Maths, to allow you to support your children with their learning.  Some of our sessions focus on parents and their children working together, to discover a range of different activities that will make learning Maths fun. We also work with schools to offer sessions for parents to learn about the various ways that your children are taught Maths, so that you can build on your skills and help your children with their homework.

Some examples of what we offer:

  • ‘Upgrade your Maths’ is designed for parents who would like to improve their maths skills, and find out about what their children learn at school and how you can support them with their learning. Areas of maths covered include the 4 rules (add, subtract, multiply, divide) fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, handling data, interpreting graphs, area and volume and formulae.
  • Our ‘The 1,2,3 of Maths’ course is designed for parents/carers to find out more about how they can support their child to learn the maths skills that are covered in the Early Years and Key stage 1.
  • ‘Help your Child with Maths’ - These sessions will help you to understand more about how children learn maths in school. You will discover a range of fun activities that you can complete at home to support your child with their learning. We can also support you with understanding your children's homework.
