Pamper yourself whilst also saving money by learning how to ‘do it yourself’ at one of our Health and Beauty courses. These courses are designed to teach you new skills, plus save you money by teaching you how to create products out of items you will already have at home.

Some examples of what we offer:

  • ‘Nail Art’- Treat yourself to a manicure at home by learning how to shape and care for your nails, plus practice a variety of designs to paint onto your nails.
  • ‘Skincare from your Kitchen Cupboard’ is a fun course designed for you to learn all about skincare and the different products you can use. You will also learn ways to save some money by creating beauty products from ingredients that you will find in your kitchen cupboard.
  • At 'Hand Massage and Reflexology’ you will earn how to massage your hand using homemade products, and enjoy relaxing with reflexology.
  • Discover 'Relaxing Reflexology' at our three week course. Explore the world of reflexology; learn about what it is and how can it help with certain physical conditions, as well as helping to improve your mental health. Get stuck into the practical application of reflexology routines for different parts of the hands and feet.

Feedback:

A group of ladies at the Nelson Trust recently participated in a 4 week 'Look Good Feel Good' course, looking at different methods of self-care and building confidence by learning how to make cleanser, toner and facial scrub from simple ingredients, nail art and making homemade bath bombs. Here are some of their comments:

"In recovery there is a lot of emphasis on self-care and hygiene and being mindful and kind to yourself, all neglected when I was using. I now have a regular skin cleansing routine and my diet has totally changed. I am now embracing a healthy lifestyle.”

“I have really enjoyed this programme. Sian, the tutor, has been lovely, informative, practical and very helpful. Has helped build my confidence whilst at rehab.”

“It has been relaxing and enjoyable”
