Sarah Marley - Deputy Social Care Manager (Cheltenham)

“I originally started in Gloucestershire County Council as an agency worker, which was nearly 3 years ago. Since then I have taken a permanent role within the council and have been supported to develop my skills, knowledge and confidence. As such I am now a deputy team manager in the Cheltenham team, which I thoroughly enjoy. Gloucestershire offer training and development opportunities which also includes progression in your role and career. I have recently been awarded ‘practice supervisor’ of the year which has been a huge achievement for me both professionally and personally. My current role includes supporting and supervising Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Care Assessors. As such I understand the structure of the team and can think creatively of how I can support their professional development within the boundaries of their role. Gloucestershire is a large county with a diverse community so there are a lot of opportunities to develop your social practice and progress your career. "
