Whether you would like to boost your IT skills for employment, get to grips with using a tablet or increase your confidence with getting online, we have a course for you. Our beginners ICT courses can get you feeling confident with the basics, and there is then the opportunity to move on to further courses that lead to an accredited qualification.
Computer Basics - Beginners
A four-week course perfect for complete beginners. In a friendly and supportive atmosphere, you will cover the key basics, such as booting up and closing down, opening up an application, and creating and saving a document. This course will get you off to an excellent start and give you the confidence to make use of the features on your computer. There is also a 'Part 2' course where you can expand your knowledge further.
Computer Basics - ESOL
For learners where English isn't their first language. We'll offer ESOL support while covering computer basics such as keyboard and mouse skills, email, internet, online safety and Microsoft Word.
Computer Basics - Intermediate
A seven-week follow-on course for anyone who has completed the part 1 course, or those who already have a little bit of computer experience. This course will teach you how to manage files and folders, create longer word documents that include pictures and borders, help you to understand the page layout and make the most of the tools available on the toolbar. This course will get you ready to take our computer qualification.
Computer Basics - Advanced
For learners who have completed computer basics part 2 or have good basic computer skills. We'll cover the slightly more advanced features of email, internet and Microsoft Office in more depth.
Introduction to Excel
For learners who have basic computer skills and want to learn more about the various uses for Excel and learn basic skills such as data entry, formatting, formulas, sorting & filtering.
Microsoft Office for Work
For learners who are looking to improve their Microsoft Office skills for work and gain the skills that employers are looking for. We'll cover MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Introduction to Smartphones & Tablets
For learners with little or no experience of Smartphone and Tablets. We'll cover safety and security, navigating around the device, email, internet and Apps.
