Family English

Our courses focused on English can help to enhance your own skills, and also teach you ways that you can support your children with their learning.

Our courses cover the basics of how children are taught English at school, covering elements such as reading and writing.

Some of our courses are delivered in schools, and allow parents and children to work together to discover fun activities that will help you to encourage your child with their learning.

Improve your English and Help your Child

This is a programme of sessions for parents to attend in school. The course is designed for parents/carers to build their own English skills and find out about different ways to support their children with learning at home.

Help your Child to Read

Join us to bring reading to life. Discover new ways to engage your children with reading and make fun resources to use at home. This session gives you the opportunity to come into school and work with your children to make reading fun.

Upgrade your English

This course is aimed at parents who would like to improve their English skills.  You will also find out how to help your children develop their literacy. This course could also lead to accreditation.

Family Cookery

We offer a variety of Family Cookery courses and workshops where you will learn more about making healthy meals that are quick, tasty and cost effective. We have sessions that focus on meal planning, exploring the different ways to ensure that your family are eating a balanced diet, and discovering tips on how you can make your money go further. We also run cookery courses that allow parents and children to work together in the kitchen to create delicious recipes that the whole family will love.

Feed your Family Well for Less

This is a six week cookery course where you will explore cost saving ideas, healthy eating, meal planning, shopping lists and new ideas to help make your ingredients go further.

Family Cookery Workshop

At our fun and practical Family cookery workshop, your family will work together to cook some delicious food, which you will be able to take away and enjoy at home. Prepare to get everyone involved!

Feed your family on a budget

A one off cookery workshop for adults to discover tips and tricks for making cost effective meals that taste great. You will look at cost saving ideas, healthy eating and how to plan cheap, healthy meals for children over the school holidays.

Simple, Affordable Family Meals

Our six week course is all about learning how to cook something new. You will make a nutritious meal each week from scratch, using simple ingredients, which you can then take home to share with the family. If you are looking to eat a wider and more varied diet, then this is the course for you.

We also offer a range of seasonal workshops, with activities that reflect the time of year.

Family Wellbeing

Discover new activities that are designed to promote positive wellbeing. Many of our mindfulness courses are designed for the whole family; come along and work together to discover new activities that you can continue to do at home. Whether you are looking for new ways to get active, or activities to help your family to relax and unwind after a busy day – we have something for you.

Family Yoga and Mindfulness

In this family session you will have the chance to try out some yoga with your family, and you can also practice some mindfulness techniques.

Family Movement and Dance

This is a practical family session which will have you all moving. Come along for a family learning session with a difference.

Family First Aid

Our Family First Aid course covers the basics of applying first aid at home. The sessions will cover things such as the recovery position, CPR, bleeding, burns, bandaging and common childhood illnesses.

Keep Calm Kids

This course is designed to support parents, carers and children; you will work together in a supportive and calm environment to develop strategies and tools for managing emotional wellbeing. You will complete weekly activities which include both mindfulness practice and practical activities, which are designed to be used at home.

Family Maths

We offer a variety of courses focused on Maths, to allow you to support your children with their learning.  Some of our sessions focus on parents and their children working together, to discover a range of different activities that will make learning Maths fun. We also work with schools to offer sessions for parents to learn about the various ways that your children are taught Maths, so that you can build on your skills and help your children with their homework.

Upgrade your Maths

This course is designed for parents who would like to improve their maths skills, and find out about what their children learn at school and how you can support them with their learning. Areas of maths covered include the 4 rules (add, subtract, multiply, divide) fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, handling data, interpreting graphs, area and volume and formulae.

The 1,2,3 of Maths

Our The 1,2,3 of Maths course is designed for parents/carers to find out more about how they can support their child to learn the maths skills that are covered in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.

Help your Child with Maths

These sessions will help you to understand more about how children learn maths in school. You will discover a range of fun activities that you can complete at home to support your child with their learning. We can also support you with understanding your children's homework.
