How were the bids evaluated and who made the decision?

Each application was considered by a decision making panel consisting of the Deputy Leader Cabinet Member for Finance and Change and senior officers.

Elements considered when evaluating each submission included:

  • The ‘reach’ of the event – how many people it is expected / likely to benefit.
  • The expected impact of the event on the local economy – how it will help to revitalise local shops, businesses and tourism.
  • Being able to demonstrate a high level of experience for delivering similar events.
  • Being able to outline the legacy of the event on the local community.
