What can the fund be used for?
This grant is available to support non-commercial community events only - Such as Christmas fairs, spring shows, summer fetes, vintage car shows, music festivals and farmers markets. The event must take place by the end of August 2022.
The grant can be used to underwrite events where there is a financial gap/risk or to purchase a key asset required to successfully deliver the event such as new Christmas lights, sound equipment, additional cost of security/policing or any additional costs related to the impacts of the pandemic.
This grant funding is not about replacing existing funding that might be committed / secured.
If the funding provided is not spent or required if it is being used to underwrite the event, then it is to be returned to Gloucestershire County Council.
Whilst it is reasonable to expect that some surplus revenue may well be generated by the event organisers and subsequently reinvested to support future events, should the event be a significant financial success, there is an expectation for any grant funding used to support the event to be returned to Gloucestershire County Council.
