Gloucestershire's climate change strategy

Climate change is happening everywhere. We can see the effects all over the world with the large scale flooding, forest fires, melting ice caps and the loss of wildlife. In Gloucestershire, flooding has become more common, we have had hotter and drier summers but we can make a difference if we act now.

Youth climate panel

We have also set up the youth climate panel which has 20 members aged 16 – 25 from around Gloucestershire. The panel represents the young people of the county and is being a member gives them the opportunity to have their say on:
• what the county council will do to act on climate change;
• how we can encourage people to behave in a more sustainable way; and
• our climate change policy and action plan.
The climate panel will be invited to speak at events and bring young people’s perspectives on climate change to the council.
