Help with your research into WW1
Research toolkits, factsheets, and other material to assist your research into WW1 Gloucestershire and the servicemen who left the county to fight for it.
Lots of the documents and published resources in our collections contain information about WW1. And there are more out in the community. You can use the downloadable toolkits and factsheets on the right hand side of this page to help you find and use them all. If you are new to archives and would like to see things in our collections please have a look at our Before you visit page.

WW1 research in Gloucestershire
We've also created a guide to WW1 research going on across the county, so you can find out more about what's happening in your district. The guide includes contact details so you can get in touch with individuals and groups if you're interested in their findings, or if you'd like to help. You can download the guide from the list above.
Some local WW1 Centenary events are already underway. Please visit the 'Gloucestershire Remembers WW1' website for more about local WW1 events and activities (and visit our 'Help with sharing your research findings' page to see how we can help you turn your WW1 research into an event or activity).
