Coronavirus update

Gloucestershire Heritage Hub is closed until further notice. This includes Gloucestershire Archives, Gloucestershire Family History Society, and Gloucestershire Registration copy certificates service.

Every effort will be made to continue offering essential services such as access to records for legal reasons. We look forward to welcoming back our customers, volunteers, partners and friends in due course.

Have a look at Gloucestershire Heritage Hub for ideas and links to help you #ExploreYourArchiveAtHome.

Access to Gloucestershire resources on Ancestry for free

While Gloucestershire Archives, Gloucestershire Libraries and Gloucestershire Family History Society’s research rooms are closed to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic, customers have been unable to access digitised copies of Gloucestershire records free of charge. We’ve been working with Ancestry and can now provide free access to Gloucestershire’s digitised resources until we can welcome you back. Please use this link to access them.

Lockdown resources and activities

We know that many of you will miss being able to visit the Heritage Hub, whether as a researcher or a volunteer. We have created a new page on the Heritage Hub website which will gather together ideas about how you can explore and engage with the Archives from home, as well as other heritage-inspired activities which you can do during lockdown. The page also links to campaigns and initiatives which we know about elsewhere.

Please click here to access the page.

Please check in to this page to see updates, as we will keep adding to it!
