Meet our colleagues

Our colleagues share why they love working for Gloucestershire Children's Services

Gloucestershire was my number 1 choice

I was born and raised in Gloucestershire and so I was already was aware of the beauty this county has. This, along with having family here, made it an easy choice to choose Gloucestershire.

It's a great place to live and work

I love working here. I work in the Forest of Dean and every day I see the beautiful views of the forest, with every bit having its own unique quirks. My office is also In the heart of the forest and it creates a unique working environment, a different one than I’m used to from when I worked in the city.

I love the scenic views I get and the wide range of people I meet.

I get lots of support

My team have also made me feel very included from the beginning and have been there for me whenever I’ve needed them.

I get lots of support from my team members, my Advanced Practitioner, my team manager, and everyone at the Social Work Academy. My team make working in Gloucestershire amazing!

I'm really enjoying the ASYE programme

I have really been enjoying the ASYE program so far. I have been placed with a very supportive team and I have been allowed to ask lots of questions, which has really helped.

Thinking of joining Gloucestershire? Do it!

There’s so many great reasons to join Gloucestershire like I did, and the support systems here are amazing.

Support to maintain a healthy work / life balance

Every supervision, my work life balance is asked about. There has been some flexibility with my working that has helped me to maintain this balance.

Seeing the difference we make together every day is very rewarding

My work is rewarding because I can see the difference I am helping families to make for the children.
