Every Friday between 9.30 and 11.30, Ann James our Director of Safeguarding and Care is available in our Social Work Academy to meet and chat to colleagues about anything and everything which is important to them.

Ambassadors for Vulnerable Children and Young People: How They Improve Practice Listen to our Care Ambassadors discuss how they initiate change to help those within the care system, using their own experiences to fuel improvements to the lives and voices of care-experienced children and young people in Gloucestershire and beyond. From working closely with Gloucestershire’s Social Work Academy, to their direct engagement with senior leadership and their inclusion on interview panels, the group explains how their wide-reaching work is helping our social work professionals improve and re-evaluate their practice. |

Creativity and Curiosity: An ASYE Community within a Reflective Space This webinar explores how the Social Work Academy at GCC strives for innovation by shifting towards a professional development ‘village’ – a community focused on relational practice that promotes creativity and curiosity within our ASYE programme and beyond. Our speakers discuss how the transition to a community-based academy has been achieved through the integration of relational practice between social workers within a reflective space, the positive role of the National Accreditation and Assessment System (NAAS), the involvement of children with lived-experience, and wider systemic changes within our improving authority. |
