Fostering Support Team
The Fostering Support Team is responsible for supporting foster carers and their families once they have been approved for 12 months.
We value our carers and their families as an essential resource for Gloucestershire’s vulnerable children and help them reflect on the impact of having other people’s children living with them.
Sometimes these children have experienced abuse and trauma and they bring these experiences with them to the foster home.
We provide regular support to carers to help them to explore how children can be encouraged to progress positively with their foster families. We run support groups for carers and offer a comprehensive training programme, including clinical supervision from child psychotherapists. We also run a specific group for the children of foster carers called K4K.
We are a large and diverse team of Social Workers and family support workers who are supportive of each other as a team and we are committed to helping all children achieve their full potential.
