In House Fostering Placement Finding Team

The Fostering Placement Finding Team matches children who come into care with in-house foster carers and supports specialist foster carers who care for children with additional support needs.

We work with all carers providing differing types of placements including:

  • the Intensive Recovery Intervention Service (IRIS);
  • parent and child;
  • supported lodgings;
  • Emergency Duty Team; and
  • those foster carers who support children and young people with additional support needs.

The placement finding aspect of the team is always busy managing requests for placements, identifying and matching the best possible placements for children and young people. Team members also offer support to carers providing placements in an emergency, carers who are part of our specialist IRIS team, parent and child placements  and carers for children with additional needs through regular support groups which take place across the county.

We are a busy and industrious small team made up of a team manager, Social Workers, placement finders and family support workers. We are a county wide team and work closely together with both Fostering Service practitioners and children’s Social Workers.
