Hollie, an Advanced Practitioner at the council, says: "I work in a really supportive team. Our head of service is forward thinking, dynamic and child-focused."

Safeguarding Teams

Children supported in these teams are either under child protection plans, children in need plans or in care plans. This means the teams may need to work with the courts to undertake pre-proceedings and proceedings. The teams will work with partners to make sure that every child has an accurate assessment of need, with a plan that sets out how help will be delivered, with improved outcomes and arrangements for review.

In Gloucester we have a unique children and families model, which means we have smaller multi agency teams which work within specific areas of the Gloucester locality. Our social workers work closely with a dedicated team of professionals, including adult substance misuse, adult mental health, adult education and domestic violence specialists. This allows us to benefit from working together to provide an inclusive service.

Our Assessment and Safeguarding teams operate within a locality based model across the County, split into 6 areas. Each of our localities are unique, with some operating in the inner city, and some across more widespread rural areas. When applying to work with us, you can choose which of our areas you can see yourself working in. Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean, Gloucester, Stroud and Cotswolds make up our service.
