The Social Work Academy
Gloucestershire's Social Work Academy was launched in 2019 and now has a comprehensive programme of learning opportunities to support the continuing professional development of Gloucestershire’s children’s social workers and allied professionals.
All practitioners and managers are offered the Essentials 2.0 Programme, which is a modular programme focusing on core practice principles, including:
- Assessment (Anchor Principles)
- Purposeful Visiting
- C-SMART Planning
- Risk Assessment & Review
- Management Oversight
Our Ofsted Focus Visit letter stated that:
“Run by Gloucestershire’s social work academy, the Essentials Programme is starting to make a real difference to the way in which social workers and personal advisors, think and act.” (Ofsted 21.10.2020)
