The Social Work Academy
Gloucestershire's Social Work Academy was launched in 2019 and now has a comprehensive programme of learning opportunities to support the continuing professional development of Gloucestershire’s children’s social workers and allied professionals.
Gloucestershire is one of the NAAS phase 2 pilot sites and we are using this to develop a robust system of continuing professional development and career progression.
The Social Work Academy has aligned this with the capabilities frameworks of the Post Qualifying Standards (PQS) and the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) to explicitly link to our role profiles, learning programmes and career progression arrangements. This allows staff clear and easy access to relevant learning and development in whichever direction they wish their career to progress.
