A417 Missing Link gets the go ahead (1)
I am pleased to
inform you that, today, Transport Minister Huw Merriman MP has approved the
A417 Missing Link scheme between Gloucester and Swindon, which will boost
regional economies and transform journeys for millions of people.

move this project forward during this time. Preparatory work on the project
will begin in early 2023 and construction will start later next year.
We will continue to work closely with local communities as we move
towards the start of construction, making sure everyone is kept informed and
disruption is kept to a minimum.
Next week we will be running a series of mobile
information events. They will provide an opportunity to meet our contractor
Kier, who will be building the new road, and give
people an opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

upcoming events. Please also inform members that we plan to organise a briefing
for them in the new year, following the Judicial Review period. This will go
over the decision, our upcoming plans for the scheme and provide an opportunity
