Gloucestershire 'One You' pledge
You may remember that Public Health ran the GCC wide Gloucestershire One You pledge campaign last year, where we invited staff to make a pledge to either Move More, Stress Less or Eat Well, for 4 weeks. The Gloucestershire One You campaign will run again this year, kicking off on Monday 5th June. This year staff are encouraged to make a pledge to either Move More, Stress Less, Eat Well, Drink Less or Become Smoke Free.
This year – we have invited partner organisations involved in the prevention agenda to take part – so there will be a coordinated approach to supporting the public sector workforce of Gloucestershire to make a healthy change. The county’s new Healthy Lifestyles Service are running a public pledge campaign over the same time period, encouraging members of the public to sign up.
We will be promoting GCC’s new Health and Wellbeing Policy and the Employee Assistance Programme as part of the pledge.
A launch event will take place on Tuesday 6th June 12-2.30pm - we are inviting staff to come along to the Council Chamber landing to hear more about what support and activities are available to help them with their pledge.
We are planning a whole range of activities to take place during the pledge campaign including a team step challenge, GCC clubs and groups, mini health checks delivered by Occupational Health and some 1:1 and/or group sessions to explore particular health issues such as stopping smoking or losing weight, supported by the Healthy Lifestyles Service.
