General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Data protection law has changed from 25 May 2018, following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The regulations change how organisations process and handle data; with the key aim of giving greater protection and rights to individuals.
The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administered by Gloucestershire County Council (the Gloucestershire Pension Fund) already has procedures in place which comply with similar data protection principles under the Data Protection Act 1998. The new regulations will reinforce these existing requirements. As a result, members are unlikely to notice any significant change in the way their membership is administered by the Gloucestershire Pension Fund on a day-to day basis.
