UPDATE: Restrictions on emails have been lifted

We now have sufficient confidence our systems and servers have not been affected by the recent cyber attack on our ICT provider, Sopra Steria, that we have lifted the block on external emails.

As you would expect, there are a large number of emails that have been quarantine but work is well under way to release them and should be completed by the end of tomorrow (Friday).

Thank you for your patience and support whilst we have worked to safely resolve the situation.

If you need us urgently, please call us.

LGPS Annual Benefit Statements

Benefit Statements are issued annually to Active and Deferred members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The Annual Benefit Statements for Active and Deferred scheme members calculated to 31st March 2019 were dispatched at the end of August 2019.

If you were an active or deferred scheme member on the 31st March 2019 and also at the date of dispatch, you should have now received your statement.
If you have not yet received yours, please let us know by telephoning (01452) 328888 or sending an email to pensions@gloucestershire.gov.uk.

If you commenced membership of the scheme after 31st March 2019, you will receive your first Benefit Statement (calculated to 31st March 2020) later during the 2020/2021 financial year.  Subject to our receiving the required information from your employer, this should be by early September 2020 at the latest.

Active Scheme Members

The statement provides calculations of the benefits due from the LGPS in the following scenarios:

  • Estimated current value of benefits; assuming membership had ceased on 31st March of the specified financial year and that benefits would be paid from your Normal Pension Age (NPA).
  • Estimated death in service benefits based on membership to 31st March of the specified financial year.
  • Estimated retirement benefits assuming you continue active membership of the LGPS to Normal Pensions Age (NPA).

Deferred Scheme Members

The statement provides the current value of your deferred benefits (i.e. including the latest Index Linking).
