UPDATE: Some of the restrictions on emailing have been lifted

We are pleased so say that we are now able to receive some external emails. Until we are completely confident that our servers are not at risk, external emails that include a link or an attachment will continue to be quarantined.

Emails from us are not affected by the block that is in place, so you should still receive contact from us in this way, although it may take slightly longer than normal. We will let you know when these issues are resolved.

Winchcombe and Woodmancote by-election on 26 March 2020 suspended

The Returning Officer, Peter Bungard, has decided to suspend the Winchcombe and Woodmancote County Division by-election due to take place on Thursday, 26 March 2020. In view of the uncertainty of the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, no alternative date for the by-election has yet been set, but we will keep you informed.

We are in unprecedented times and the Returning Officer feels that to proceed with the by-election would be contrary to current public health advice to limit the spread of COVID-19 and would represent an unnecessary risk to both electors attending the polling stations and to the staff running the stations.

In view of the above decision, please do not attend your allocated polling station on Thursday, 26 March for polling as it will not be open for voting purposes.

If you vote by post and have already completed and returned your postal voting pack, this will be securely destroyed unopened. In the event that you have not completed and returned your postal vote pack then you will not now need to do so.

We would strongly recommend that you securely dispose of your poll card (or postal poll card/proxy poll card/postal proxy poll card) and any postal vote pack you have received, as this contains your name and address information.

We are conscious that there is currently no elected County Councillor for Winchcombe and Woodmancote.  Should you require representation on a particular County matter please contact Democratic Services via email atdemocraticservices@gloucestershire.gov.uk or telephone 01452 425000.
